Light Fantastic 2

Brief Photographic Biography of the speaker.

I first became involved with photography as a teenager, when I received my first (Compact) camera as a birthday present from my father.
In 1977, I joined Southport Photographic Society, where I learned to take ‘proper’ pictures, and was fortunate enough to win a considerable number of local and regional awards for my photographs.
Since that time, photography has played a major part in my life, making my reputation as an Aviation Photographer, whilst employed as a Marketing Executive with British Aerospace / BAE Systems.
In 1998, I was invited to become a Lecturer and Judge with the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU), and in 2001, I was awarded an Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS).
In 2004, I was appointed as a Photographic Tutor at Lancaster University, teaching Basic Photography and Landscape Photography, and worked at the University for several years, until funding was withdrawn for the Adult Photographic Courses.
Nowadays, my lecture and judging activities take me all over the North West of England, and my regular audiences include:- photographic and aviation societies, National Trust Associations, PROBUS Clubs, U3A Groups, Women’s Institutes, and many other social and religious groups.
I still work with COLOUR SLIDES rather than Digital Imaging,
Look forward to meeting you next Monday.
